Drapers - Footwear Designer of the Year

Havva’s signature black cowboy boots with ornate contrast stitching, buckle detailing and flame motifs caught judges’ eyes, earning her the accolade of Footwear Designer of the Year.

Havva was founded in 2015 by Havva Mustafa, who runs the label alongside her brother, Ali Mustafa.

Judges recognised the commercial possibilities of Havva’s designs, describing the premium women’s footwear brand as “superb”.

The siblings have footwear in their DNA: Havva and Ali were taught the craft by their father Nafi Mustafa, who teaches Footwear Design at the London College of Fashion. Havva followed in her father’s footsteps by teaching the Footwear Design Short Course at the college, which she still currently teaches after starting in 2016, and after graduating from the Cordwainers course there in 2007, alongside also currently being a short course lecturer in Footwear Design for Beginners at Central Saint Martins since 2013.

Havva products are manufactured in small batches, and the brand is expanding its made-to-order service to reduce waste.
